Sliding chips is an ideal example of a betting motion chosen by players who hold strong hands and are hoping for calls. Players with weak hands typically feel the need to add extra flair to bolster their bets. This pattern isn't perfect. Occasionally a player may decide to make a timid bluff, but that's rare. If you find such a player, remember his or her move so you can capitalize next time it occurs. Mostly, players who bet softly have the goods. One big word of caution here. Some players always use the same betting move no matter what. If they always slide their chips in the same way, bluffing or not, then you shouldn't apply this tell.
